A Missional Church
New City is a gospel-centered church with a strong commitment to being missional. Our mission was given to us by Jesus: that we would make disciples of all nations. Making disciples is more than simply proclaiming the truth of the gospel to those who do not yet believe. It is more than building into the lives of those who already believe. It also involves demonstrating the gospel by seeking justice for the oppressed and showing mercy to those in need. We seek to be faithful to this calling through strategic ministry partnerships both locally (here in Lawrenceville and Gwinnett County) and globally.
Matthew 28:19-20
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
LOCAL
When we consider how we can be good stewards of what has been entrusted to New City Church, it seems wise not to duplicate (or compete with) the many excellent organizations that God has called to serve within our community. Our role is to come alongside those who are making a difference in Lawrenceville and in Gwinnett County through committed prayer, faithful sharing of resources and volunteers, generous financial support, and intentional mentorship of leaders.
What Makes A Great Local Partner?
Deuteronomy 10:18
He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing.
Throughout Scripture we see God's call that we be particularly focused on serving those right in our midst, particularly the fatherless, the widow, and the sojourner. There are many children within our community who do not have the nurture, guidance, and provision of one (or both) of their earthly parents. Likewise, we encounter many women without the companionship and support of a husband due to death, divorce or separation, incarceration, or deployment. Gwinnett County is home to many refugees, immigrants, and aliens who need love, support, and welcoming acceptance. An excellent ministry partner is a person or organization who is serving these kinds of people in our community and particularly those who have organically become connected to the life of New City Church. Some of our key ministry partners are listed here:

GLOBAL
When faced with the tremendous need for the gospel of grace and mercy around the world, it becomes obvious that the resources of our humble church can only go so far. Our approach is to do for a few what we wish we could do for everyone. We believe we can be the best stewards of our limited resources by coming alongside global ministry partners who are aligned with our mission. New City supports our global partners with prayer, financial support, encouragement, and through short term mission trips.
What Makes A Great Global Partner?
Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Of course we love orphanages, schools, and medical missions, but without healthy churches those ministries will not thrive in making disciples. On the global scene, it is our goal to plant healthy churches that in turn will provide support to local mercy ministries. Our partners are people and organizations who are primarily focused on planting churches with indigenous pastors. We particularly like to partner with ministries that have a natural, organic connection to the life of New City Church.

Long Term Missions
In partnership with Mission the World, we have a goal to send and support 1% of our people as they are called by God into long term missions. You can help by praying that God would call people from New City Church to long-term missions and that the generosity of our people would be stirred toward supporting them. If you sense a calling to the mission field, we want to hear from you.
