We have a theology of place and a theology of global impact. That is to say that we believe the Bible tells us that our church is planted in Lawrenceville for a specific purpose and we believe the Bible tells us that our church has a role to play in the work that God is doing all around the world. The Great Commission tells us to make disciples of all nations - we understand this to have two clear connotations: First, we are to share the gospel with all kinds of people here at home. Second, we are to do our part to spread the gospel to every nation around the world.
We also do not see a distinction between being a gospel-centered church and being a missional church. Our mission was given to us by Jesus himself - that we would make disciples of all nations. Making disciples includes proclaiming the truth of the gospel to those who do not yet believe. It also includes building into the lives of those who already believe. And it also involves demonstrating the gospel by seeking justice for the oppressed and showing mercy to those who are in spiritual or physical need.
This calling is much bigger than we are as individuals or even as a local church body. Thus we seek to be faithful to the Great Commission through strategic ministry partnerships both locally and globally.
EPHESIANS 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
